The Mekmek resembles an Archaeopteryx or Microraptor, each historic chicken/dinosaur species which have been the assumed predecessors or quite near-cousins to modern-day birds (respectively), consequently the chook-like visual appeal and features in the Mekmek. It has a crest and huge wings used for gliding, skinny legs, and a skinny lengthy tail.
